SIGNING OF A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) BETWEEN AIB GHANA AND BEA- BENIN

The Commissioner of AIB, Ghana, Mr. Akwasi agyebi Prempeh led a three member delgation to Benin to sign an MoU on  Friday 31st January,2025.

According to the Commissioner the MoU which was signed between AIB Ghana and BEA- Benin signified a substantial advancement towards their collective aspiration for safer skies and  enhanced collaboration.

He said through the MoU , the two organisations will engage in close collaboration to share expertise, resources and best practices. He further stated that the MoU will  integrate their collective knowledge and experinces which will also enhance their capabilitiees to conduct thorough and independent investigations into aircraft accidents and incident.

Mr. Prempeh reteirated that the MoU is very ensential since it encapsulates their mutual values of transparency, collaboration and dedication to onging improvment of the sector. He said the  Sector will enhance by engaging in joint training programs, employing shared investigative methodologies and providing reciprocal support. ” This will also uncover the truths surrounding aviation incidents and doing so we aspire to establish a comprehensive framework that priorizes safety and forsters a culture of learning”  

Welcoming the delegation , the Director General of BEA-Benin , Mr. Paul Gongo express his outmost joy for having the delegation and said that was the first time of having a Ghanaian delegation in BEA-Benin.

He said Benin as a country has being experincing rampant accidents in recent times so the signing of the MoU is of high significance to BEA in areas of collaboration.

Mr. Gongo said the signing of the MoU was in the right direction since it will give the opportunity for the two organisations to share experinces, knowledge and investigators as well as crossing boaders without difficulty.
